Grammar Rules — Tenses – Past

Past Continuous Tense describes actions that were ongoing at a specific time in the past (भूतकाल में लगातार चल रहे कार्यों के लिए।). e.g., I was reading.

Sentence Structure: [Subject] + [was/were] + [V1+ing (V4)] + [Object]. (was -> I, He, She, It, Singular; were -> We, You, They, Plural).

For negatives, use "was not / were not + V1+ing". For questions, put was/were at the beginning. Structure: [was/were] + [Subject] + [V1+ing]?. e.g., Were they sleeping?

5	Exaggerate Verb	Badha-chadha kar bolna (Represent as larger than real)	Do not exaggerate your story; just tell the plain truth.
