Grammar Rules — Verbs

May is used to express formal permission, strong possibility, or wishes (औपचारिक अनुमति, प्रबल संभावना या इच्छा के लिए।). Structure: [Subject] + [may] + [V1]. e.g., May I come in, sir? | It may rain today.

Might is used to express weak possibility in the present or future (बहुत कम संभावना के लिए।). Structure: [Subject] + [might] + [V1]. e.g., She might come to the party.

Difference: "It may rain today" (50-60% chance) vs "It might rain today" (20-30% chance). Might is the past form of May in indirect speech.

Practice Examples — वाक्य संरचना उदाहरण

May I borrow your book? (formal permission)
She might arrive late because of the heavy traffic. (weak possibility)
May God bless you! (wish/blessing)
