Grammar Rules — Verbs

Would is used to express past habits, preferences, or polite offers (भूतकाल की आदतें, प्राथमिकता या विनम्र प्रस्ताव के लिए।). Structure: [Subject] + [would] + [V1]. e.g., Would you like some tea?

Used to is used to describe past habits or states that are no longer true (भूतकाल की ऐसी आदतें जो अब नहीं हैं।). Structure: [Subject] + [used to] + [V1]. e.g., I used to play cricket.

Difference: "used to" can show both habits and states (e.g., I used to have a dog), while "would" only shows active habits (e.g., I would study for hours).

Would you like to have dinner with us? (polite offer)
My grandfather would take a walk every morning. (past habit)
I used to live in Delhi when I was a child.
