Grammar Rules — Active & Passive Voice

Active Voice: The subject performs the action (कर्ता क्रिया करता है।). Structure: [Subject] + [Verb] + [Object]. e.g., Ram wrote a letter.

Passive Voice: The subject receives the action, and the object becomes important (कर्म प्रधान वाक्य।). Structure: [Object] + [Helping Verb] + [V3 (Past Participle)] + by + [Subject]. e.g., A letter was written by Ram.

Main passive rule: The main verb is ALWAYS in the V3 form in passive voice, regardless of the tense. e.g., spoke -> spoken, wrote -> written.

Practice Examples — वाक्य संरचना उदाहरण

The police arrested the thief. (Active Voice)

The thief was arrested by the police. (Passive Voice - V3 form)

She makes coffee. (Active) | Coffee is made by her. (Passive)
