Understanding the Structure of IBPS Regional Rural Banks Recruitment
The Common Recruitment Process for Regional Rural Banks (IBPS RRB) fills vital banking vacancies across rural and semi-urban banking networks in India. Unlike commercial bank examinations, RRB selections are organized into distinct technical and administrative cadres: Group 'B' Office Assistants (Multipurpose) and Group 'A' Officers (Scale-I Assistant Managers, Scale-II Managers, and Scale-III Senior Managers). Each cadre has distinct age limits, educational qualifications, and professional experience requirements.
Cadre-Wise Educational and Professional Criteria
- Office Assistant (Multipurpose): Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University. Proficiency in the local language of the participating RRB region is mandatory. Working knowledge of computers is desirable.

Preference is given to degrees in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing, Information Technology, Management, Law, or Economics. Proficiency in local language is required.
- Officer Scale-II (General Banking Officer): Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 50% aggregate marks plus at least two years of professional experience as an officer in a Bank or Financial Institution.
